To develop optimism as a philosophy of life utilizing the tenets of the Optimist Creed; to promote community support in Paris Ontario and encourage an active interest in good government and civic affairs; to inspire respect for the law; to promote patriotism and work for international accord and friendship among all people; to aid and encourage youth development through the Paris Optimist Club, believing that the giving of one’s self in service to others will advance the well-being of humankind, enrich community life, and benefit the world, as exemplified by the Paris Optimists.

The Paris Optimist Club, established in June of 1949, was founded by a group of Paris men with a vision to create programs that positively impact the youth in our community. Over the years, the Paris Optimists have organized numerous events in Paris Ontario aimed at fostering growth and development among young people. In 1981, Optimist International opened its doors to women, and by 1987, the Paris Club proudly welcomed its first female member.

We welcome everyone over 18 who has a passion for community support and a desire to make a difference in the lives of those in our community, including Paris, Ontario, Brant County, Brantford, and beyond. New members of the Paris Optimist Club bring fresh ideas, and the more Paris Optimists we have, the more we can accomplish, especially in community development initiatives. We look forward to meeting you at our events in Paris and collaborating for the betterment of the community.
